Schools boost academic ratings

An unusually high number of Wichita Falls Independent School District schools earned the state’s top Exemplary ranking for TAKS performance in 2009, partly because of a change in the way the state calculated its ratings this year, according to reports released Friday from the Texas Education Agency.
