Debate over new breast cancer screening guidelines

Barktoberfest

Katrena Mitchell wants to see more animals adopted from the Wichita Falls Animal Service Center she helps administer. On Saturday the WFASC hosted Barktoberfest and joined many other pet adoption groups to help spread awareness about finding these animals new homes.

Wildcats Rally Past Lone Star in Overtime

The Wichita Falls Wildcats rallied late to defeat the Lone Star Brahmas 2-1 in overtime, and build on their lead in the NAHL’s South Division. Austin Beaulieu scored a short-handed goal with 2:06 remaining to tie the game at one, then defenseman Rourke Russell scored at the 1:43 mark of overtime to lift the ‘Cats to the win.

Kenneth Bowman, 87, Rowsburg

He was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Wayne County, the son of Harley and Naomi Long Bowman, and worked for F.E. Myers. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Bowman of Rowsburg; daughters Robin Bowman of Rowsburg and Karen Ruth of Wichita Falls, Texas; sons Dale Bowman of Wooster and Mike Bowman of Wintersville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Dean, Bob, Dale, David, Glen and Larry Bowman; and sisters Pat Fiscus and Eloise Bowman.
